Automation Training

plc_bTSL’s industrial Automation division delivers training for an industry-wide range of programmable controllers, HMI (Human Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) platforms & communication network standards like Ethernet, Profibus, Devicenet and CC-Link. Course fees are dependent on duration, training location and student numbers. Our most popular plc training courses (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley SLC500 & Mitsubishi FX) are available across three competence levels and one bespoke “reverse engineered” module:

Level 1: Beginners

A one or two day course designed for novices, maintenance technicians, first time users and year one apprentices.

Course content includes:

  • Introduction to hardware & hardware configuration
  • Basic overview of programming environment
  • How to recognise & diagnose basic errors
  • How to upload and download programs & make low level modifications to program code

Level 2: Intermediate

A four to five day course, designed for attendees who are familiar with programmable controllers.

Course content includes:

  • Coverage of more advanced programming including statement list, function block diagram, the IEC61131 environment
  • On-line monitoring
  • Data manipulation
  • Basic math functions

Level 3: Advanced

A four to five day course, with the flexibility to be tailored to suit the particular requirements of your organisation. So if there is a specific module or device used within your control process that you would like covered, this can be included as part of the course.

Course content includes:

  • Communication methodology
  • Advanced math functions (P.I.D.)
  • Networked communications & special function modules

Reverse Engineered Module: Bespoke

A completely flexible course in every way, both in terms of duration and subject matter. Clients often ask TSL to “reverse engineer” a machine or piece of plant, following which we will tailor a course around this specific application or factory process to train users.

As a result, the training is completely relevant to the process in question. As all applications differ in nature, so too will the duration of this style of training.
